Crisis intervention is an acute one time, or short-term psychological and social help, which is intended for people in a difficult life situation. People come since they are no longer able to manage their situation on their own. While providing crisis intervention, SOS center employees investigate if a client or his nearest ones are in acute danger, they map problematic areas that cause physical or mental strains, assess the client´s natural support system and strengthen the client´s stabilization capacities. The aim of crisis intervention is to strengthen and stabilize the client, support him or her emotionally and  guide the client towards staying on top of things, activate his or her sources and help him or her to overcome the crisis.
